Our Hospitals

At Growing Healthy Children, we believe that breastfeeding is the best source of nutrition you can provide for your infant. Breast milk has so many living properties that breast milk substitutes just cannot mimic.   Only mom can give this amazing gift to her child, and we will do everything we can to  support your breastfeeding experience.  We have lactation support visits available by appointment that include a breastfeeding assessment as well as an exam of your baby by one of our physicians.  Insurance is billed for these visits like any other appointment. Lactation services are available throughout your entire breastfeeding experience.
Dr. Liz Dedman has obtained an advanced degree in lactation, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and will give you the support and education you need to make your breastfeeding experience everything you want it to be.

We see newborns daily at Baptist Hospital East and Norton Women and Children's Hospital.  We are informed when a newborn is delivered and the family has identified us as their pediatrician.  One of our physicians will round on your baby every day he or she is in the hospital and then meet with parents to discuss our findings and answer any questions or concerns you may have.  If your baby requires immediate attention, a hospital based neonatologist will be paged to address the presenting concern.
We also round daily at Norton Children's Hospital.  We hope your child will never need admission to the hospital, but we feel strongly that this is when our patients and their parents need us most.
